To: StolarStorm

I first heard this term on the Macintosh threads claiming that I’m a Mac “fan boy” and “gay”. All of this new to me as I am neither a boy nor gay.

It seems to be some silly put down. I attribute it to a lack of vocabulary on the part of the user.

Or perhaps on the part of those who don't know what it means.

Here is the top definition on urbandictionary.com, it seems fairly accurate:

A passionate fan of various elements of geek culture (e.g. sci-fi, comics, Star Wars, video games, anime, hobbits, Magic: the Gathering, etc.), but who lets his passion override social graces.
