No surprise here. The dude benches 600 pounds and the bench press exercises many of the same muscles used in throwing a punch. I've been saying for years that boxers ought to do more bench pressing. If you can build up your bench press and not lose too much speed in the process, you'll be a scary fighter.

According to Jack Dempsey, no man is strong enough to throw a truly good punch using arm and chest strength. A good punch comes from the toes on up, and has the force of the entire body.

He won his first championship against a guy weighing about 250 while Jack weighed perhaps 185, so he knew what he was talking about.
