Mariusz Pudzianowski (Pudzian [Pron: Pu-Jon]) - 5 time winner of the "World's Strongest Man" title - won his first MMA match against Marcin Najman, also a newcomer to MMA.
The heavyweight bout took place in Warsaw, Poland as the headliner for KSW XII. Mariusz won the fight in 0:44 of the first round by tap-out due to strikes.
The Pudzianowski-Najman fight is one of the most anticipated Polish fighting sport events in years. Before the fight Mariusz said: "Ta ręka niesie za sobą śmierć, a tej drugiej sam się boję." (English: "This hand brings death, but the other one I am even afraid of myself.")
According to the press, Mariusz will collect 200,000 PLN ($70,475 as of 11/12/2009 exchange rate)for this fight , his opponent, Marcin Najman will earn just about 25% of that amount.
6’ 1” 313 pounds. The perfect nose tackle!
The guys that win are the guys that can graple. You have to be a wrestler too. Get them down and then knock them out.
“What kind of martial art would you call that? Holy cow.”
The guy is surprisingly fast for someone that big and strong.
He is a phenomenal athlete to be sure but my favorite is still Bill “Kaz” Kazmeier. When he was competing in WSM and dominating ,in the ‘80’s, they changed the rules of certain events so the European competitors would make a better showing.
‘The guy is surprisingly fast for someone that big and strong.’
There’s a misconception that big muscular men aren’t fast and can’t move. You only have to look at football players,or Marius, to know that isn’t true
Muscle-fu
Poweratte
Strength-do
????
It’s not just that the guy can move. He looks positively light-footed. Unreal.
Mariusz Pudzianowski
Pride is gone, Wouldn’t be surprised to see him fight in another Japanese Promotion though

Where does Fedor fight? Is it Strike Force?
I checked out his workout routines... Tons of high-rep low weight stuff; i.e., bodybuilding exercises. IMO, he's all bulked-up and, therefore, too slow, relatively speaking. But I'd love to see him in a regulation boxing match with Klitschko, say.
“Theres a misconception that big muscular men arent fast and cant move. You only have to look at football players,or Marius, to know that isnt true.”
I don’t think it’s a misconception. The odds of someone being an extreme outlier on two different inherited measures are far smaller than being an outlier on just one.
That’s why very smart and very beautiful rarely end up in the same woman (and why I’m a lucky guy). That’s why Ryan Clady (OL for the Broncos) is such a freak. 315 pounds, very quick and very fast—as fast as a lot of college running backs. There are a lot of 315 lb’ers. And a lot of quick people. Not many of both. That’s why Clady’s already a millionaire and he’s only in his second season (and why I’m not :).
Yup. Or any promotion that will Co-Promote with M-1. Wonder if he will pop up on a card for New Years Eve (In Japan)
He wouldn’t beat a 3rd rate amateur in a boxing match, never mind Klitschko, and that body is a product of drugs and LOTS of them.
In Poland, there are places to beat rugs on every housing development as you see in this vid. Pudzian helps a guy in a wheelchair beat his rug.
Funny vid.
“If you can build up your bench press and not lose too much speed in the process, you’ll be a scary fighter.”
According to Jack Dempsey, no man is strong enough to throw a truly good punch using arm and chest strength. A good punch comes from the toes on up, and has the force of the entire body.
He won his first championship against a guy weighing about 250 while Jack weighed perhaps 185, so he knew what he was talking about.
...the last words on the vid: "Helping makes you strong".
LOL!!!
