If John Nolte says Avatar is a piece of PC turd I move up the movie to DEFCON 1. No true conservative should support this POS PC movie.

Political Correctness ruins films and television IMO. There was a Brit version of Law & Order called Law & Order UK, and it was so politically correct, it was simply boring.

Lazy sloppy science and writing, they can travel light years for some mineral, but they cannot fix a broken spinal cord/brain, they can grow clones of alien human hybrid but they cannot fix a spinal cord, they can travel many light years, but they cannot do underground mining with minimal impact???

Heck even a late 1800’s prospecting company could dig a freaking mineshaft. Also with today’s tech they could min under the Navi village they wouldn’t even notice! Plus in our own solar system the asteroid belt contains craptons of gold platinum ect, why mine this planet in a gravity well when the system’s asteroid fields may be easier pickings????

Again, why can’t they fix the poor protagonist’s spinal cord, maybe because in this future they pass the health care plan he is still waiting for treatment......

I am concerned the aliens weren’t “alien” enough.

If they looked less human and therefore less connection to humans would it have the same “emotional impact”? The current aliens are nothing more than heavily anthropomorphic version of blue skinned humanoid types who have exaggerated “baby features” ie. big eyes and small noses, which are specifically designed to evoke more of an Emotional response to the viewer. If they looked more like the bugs from starship troopers it would be harder to make the film, but any decent filmmaker could do it and even make it better because of it. This just reeks of laziness in writing and storytelling.

If I want to watch a much better and more intelligent film, I will rent “Enemy Mine”.

It’s sad for me to see Cameron go down Hollywood’s trite and shopworn anti-American, anti-military route. He was one of my favorite filmmakers, but there’s no way I’m paying money to watch this kind of political garbage.

The movie’s distributor is FOX. It will be interesting to see what criticism, if any, of the film from a political perspective is seen on FNC. Fox Sports has been promoting the movie ad nauseam during the Sunday football games.

I saw the trailer and knew where this was going. I hate movies with heavy handed messages.

Why do you think this movie is getting all kinds of praise from big liberal movie critics?

There is a reason the South Park guys made a fun of Avatar weeks before Avatar was released. Because it’s nothing but cliches.

Based on the description, it sounds rather uncannily like a rip-off of Disney's Pocahontas.

For the massive amount of coin spent on this movie, north of $300 MM perhaps $500 MM, Cameron could of done the talked about sequel to Aliens where the nasties actually reach Earth. Insteads we get this crap.

LOL, me, too. I need to remember to put "see Avatar" on my not-to-do list.

All I know is, they should be more careful where they show the trailer. We took the kids to see “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” a couple weeks back and there was a preview for this movie. I remember thinking, WTH is this?!?! It was frightening for my 5 yr old daughter, and even my 6 & 8 (none too squeamish) girls commented later that they didn’t like the “scary movie commercial.” They also show the trailer during the more popular Nick Jr. and Disney shows and my girls HATE it.

I grow to hate all things “Hollywood” more each day.

Probably a lot of people did the same. Big opening weekend but word of mouth is going to make or break this movie.
