Someone told me he was pro-abortion ... do you know it that’s true?

I honestly don't know, and I haven't seen that. I know Weis was a Catholic, as was Lou Holtz, but I have no idea about Bob Davie or Ty Willingham. My guess is that Kelly's faith had little to do with the decision to hire him, for better or worse.

---

Yes, Lou Holtz actually was a frequent Mass attender, and said the Rosary daily, even during football season, and Davie and Willingham were not Catholics. Weis, of course, had the players sing Notre Dame Our Mother after every home game, which was really cool, but I've been looking online and it seems Kelly just might be pro-choice, which is awful for the University. My husband is an ND grad, and we haven't given up on the school's Catholicism, but some of this news gets might depressing sometimes. And you're right; his faith had little to do with his hiring I would imagine. Wish they could bring back Holtz!

I don’t think his religion would have much to do with it. Unlike BYU ND does not care what religion a person practices. I think BYU requires the head coach to be a Mormon.
Rockne was not Catholicv either as far as I know (but I believe he converted). I don’t think Parsegean is Catholic. Not sure about Devine.

I know the feeling - my son is a student at Notre Dame. We were just furious when Obama was invited, but not surprised - Fr. Jenkins is a liberal before he's a priest, in my opinion.

Agreed!
