If we pulled all ads featuring people who had trysts on the side or passed out drunk, would commercials exist?

"People" aren't Tiger Woods. He knew what was expected of him and gave his family and advertisers the middle finger. I don't feel sorry for him at all.

He gets back to golf, and loses himself in it, he’ll still be a legend at it, and he’ll make boatloads of money doing it.

The paparazzi will be stalking him, and they're relentless. I've seen them shout at people, trying to get a reaction. The right photo will get a paparazzi big bucks.

I think based on the original reports an OD was a no-brainer.

I'd say he OD'ed on too much iron in his forehead.

It isn’t tragic ... it is the result of poor decisions. Like clintoon, newt, and others ... Tiger went with the brain in the other head ...

It will get you in deeper than you ever wanted to go .. /pun off

I don’t think his family is around. Elin also bought a home in Sweden this week.

Looks like he can live that oh-so-coveted single life he wanted so much.

Can Woods recover from this? Does he want to?

He'll recover. He'll remain rich (well, half as rich for awhile, maybe.) His crime is pretending to be a faithful husband even more than the disgusting cheating. If he were single, like many other athletes, nobody would really care how many holes he conquered.

He lost credibility among decent people. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean much commercially these days.

If Woods were to right his ship, and was able to give a cogent and believable reason for his change of heart, I think people would respect him, and he would recover.

People love to see a sinner healed. Anybody can make a mistake. It is what you do after you have made the mistake that is important.

It is my hope that Tiger Woods finds forgiveness through repentance and dedicates his life to Christ. Of course, that is pretty much my hope for anybody, myself not excluded.

People have been protecting the little Deva for so long he thought he could keep getting away with just about anything. After all, look what he did get away with for so long!

He is hiding out like a little scared girl! He needs to put on his big girl panties and tell his fans (I am not one of them) that he is truly sorry and step down from golf until he gets his family problems (and mental problems) solved.

It makes me sick to my stomach to think of what he has done to the people who honestly care about him. And the hits just keep coming. NOTHING at this point will be surprising. And obviously the advertisers know something is about to hit the fan or they would still be with him!

Fame and money went to his head, both of them it seems.

Now he will be know as nothing more than a common loser who cheated on his wife.

For me, the greater good is his family. The damage is done, and instead of protecting his image, he needs to be repairing the brokenness in his family. Work on re-establishing a relationship with his wife. I’m sure the marriage is over (mine would be), but for the sake of the kids, he needs to do whatever necessary in order to provide for them (and I don’t mean materially). The legacy as is stands now for them is pathetic.

You’re correct that he shouldn’t drag golf down into his gutter....but right now, he needs to get healthy mentally, spiritually and physically and focus on fixing as well as he can what he has destroyed.

To me, he hasn’t damaged golf as much as he has wounded souls.

Who knows? Maybe Tiger doesn't want to mend his family? Maybe he's just rotten to the core.

That would require a few years of sex rehab.

Then this story will not end well, will it?

Exactly right. His wife is going through a traumatic experience and trying to care for 2 babies at the same time. The betrayal is overwhelming.

His only mistake was getting caught. The rest of us made the mistake of trusting cynical imagemakers.

We should of learned a lesson after mama boy Elvis.
