And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Luke 2:1-14
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Oh Nooooooooooooooooooo. I can’t do it! Gotta have my sleep. Em is coming in the morning and it take ENERGY to keep up with her all day. Just because I had a birthday is no reason for you to insult me you know. (note to self: I’ve gotta learn all those HTML tricks so I can get back at her properly).
This IS the Christmas thread, don't let anyone mess with it...
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Merry MERRY CHRISTmas, Sync....
BTTT
May your hearts be filled with the love, joy and peace of this blessed holiday season. We say “Merry Christmas”!
The house is decorated, the cookies are baked, the holiday parties have begun. Joy Joy Joy
Put on some good Christian CHristmas hymns, sing along and you’ll have your “work” done in no time with a smile on your face.
Pastor and his wife joined us for supper last night. We went out and gathered greenery and berries, before the soup, cheeses, and cookies....
We celebrate for at least six weeks here... “I will keep Christmas in my heart and honor it the year through”...
Remember “the preparation” is part of the Advent season. It lasts four weeks for a reason....and then to Christmas and Epiphany.....which leads us into the Easter Season.
Merry Christmas Syn....We had our first snow of the season yesterday.....Absolutely beautiful....and just right for making snowmen....It’s all gone today but a small snowman in the neighborhood.
My son’s playing with a new band and has been on Bob and Tom in AM. (Can you get it where you are?) They’ve picked up: “I’m Giving Plasma for Christmas”. Lots to be thankful for in this house.
It rained yesterday. I pretended it was snow.
;)
Clerk: Thank you and happy holidays.
Producer: It's not "happy holidays", it's "Happy birthday, JESUS".
(The clerk probably took the rest of the day off to recover.)
Yep!!!! ;) ;)
Merry CHRISTmas!!!
LOL...HM, I hope you have read all the tread by now. If you have, you saw that I was pulling BG’s leg. We do that all the time. I’m knee deep into Christmas with program practice, hanging of green, dinners, etc with my congregation. Here at home, I’ve hung lights outside and inside, decorated the tree and the house, while babysitting with my granddaughter. Trying to get my cards addressed and mailed. Not one gift bought yet, but somehow I will get it done.
So.....MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Looked outside a few minutes ago and it was raining here....Tried your method and now it's freezing rain........next BIG idea?
I know...I was just bragging....Love the holiday activites. Am reading Beck’s a Christmas Sweater....half through..a box of kleenex....Time for extra hugs for those we love. AA is in the studio today with a new band, will probably drive home in this weather this evening. Going on tour in early Jan.....Dad is “resting” today.
Um.
Tell me about A.A. I assume that is your son. Private mail if you wish. I also have a son who plays music, and my husband had a “road band” for eight years, back in the 79s-80s.
Sorry for the formatting disaster.
And all God’s people shouted, “AMEN!”
Merry Christmas
God Bless everyone.
