Actually the soldier he was named after was Vietnamese not Thai:

Racial healing is a myth. It's a euphemism for "milk the white guilt for all the free stuff we can get."
Back in the bad old days of pre-post-racial America, it was normal to consider anyone with the slightest amount of black blood in him to be fully black. And liberals told that it was racist to do so.
Now we have fractionally-black Tiger Woods and (supposedly) half-black Obama, and now liberals want us to think of them as fully black.

Sorry, but I’m calling BS on your Hatch quote. Theres no way a white politician said that and A: didnt get a response from Jackson, and B: didnt have it end up all over the media and have to do multiple mea culpas. Just not buying it (though I think the statistic noted certainly could be accurate).
Tiger is basically: An Asian man, acting white, who seeks the media advantages of being black.
