What about that crazy penalty assessment of 15 yards from the 19 to put Texas on the 4 yard line, from where they barely scored a TD? That’s not right, is it? The Nebraska coach didn’t think so.
The NCAA penalty for defensive pass interference in the end zone is 15 yards from the line of scrimmage and an automatic first down.
The penalty limitation of half the distance to the goal line does NOT apply. However, if the 15 yards would place the ball inside the 2 yard line, the ball is placed at the 2 yard line.
