Well, I’ve watched the finale and I have to say that I am satisfied with it. I will say no more, in case some of you are going to be catching it on re-runs; but after everyone has seen it, I’d enjoy reading your comments.
An unexpected bonus is a new Randy Newman theme song which I understand is downloadable.
However, I’m just a little bit ticked at the “finale” of White Collar which we will have to wait until Jan. 16 to see how it ends. NOT FAIR!
But, Monk was nice and I only see a couple of loose ends which I’d like to discuss after everyone has seen it.
Ted Levine is that great actor’s name. I remember the character well (though can’t recall his name at the moment) - He was HILARIOUS - so stupid as a criminal!! I loved that show for its humor (dark as it could be sometimes). Loved the character “Paulie” also and I still think of that great episode where Paulie takes his boss (”Ray Luca”) to a fall-out practice field (can’t think what they call them) to recoup, they get bombed and he springs him from the hospital in an ambulance and Ray, who’s wrapped up from head to toe because of burns, slides out of the back as Paulie’s driving down the road. HILARIOUS!!
It ended beautifully.
Mission accomplished. Good finale.
To reiterate what a previous poster said: It would be nice if there were some future one-and-a-half hour Monk TV movies, like they did with Columbo and Perry Mason. It’s something they may think about in a couple of years. Who knows?
My teenage daughter jokingly predicted that “Randy” would be the criminal mastermind behind Trudy’s death, because no one could be expected to believe he was that stupid.
My rule of thumb is that, if someone or some program is above average, I don't let their liberal politics interfere with my enjoying them. If they happen to be no-talent bimbos or mimbos like Julia Roberts or George Clooney, I absolutely refuse to waste a second of my life watching them.
I agree. Shaloub has created one of the finest characters in crime drama -- so much so that you cannot imagine anyone else as Monk much like no one but Peter Falk could be Colombo. BTW I think Jullia Roberts career would be much improved if she were to have her vocal chords removed.
I don’t watch network tv either except for Lost and 24.
Everything else seems awful. Although, I have started watching V and flashforward.
Emmy-winning actor Tony Shalhoub talks about his upcoming film "Feed The Fish" at his hotel in Sister Bay while filming in February. (Corey Wilson/Press-Gazette)
Green Bay and Fish Creek will get Hollywood treatment when Emmy-winning actor Tony Shalhoub returns next weekend for screenings of the film, Feed the Fish.
The movie was shot last year in Door County, and the Green Bay native is one of the stars and a producer.
Admission is free to screenings at 7 and 9 p.m. Nov. 21 at Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek and 7 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Meyer Theatre in downtown Green Bay.
Entry at the Meyer will be on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 6 p.m.
Tickets are gone for the 7 p.m. showing at Door Community Auditorium. Seats for the 9 p.m. showing may be reserved by calling the auditorium at (920) 868-2728 during business hours.
Admission is free so the film can remain eligible for festivals.
Question-and-answer sessions with the cast and crew will follow each screening.
Written and directed by Michael Matzdorff, Feed the Fish is a romantic comedy about a burned-out author of childrens books whose therapy includes a Polar Bear Plunge in icy Lake Michigan.
Ross Partridge, among the cast from Hollywood, plays the author. Shalhoubs role is secondary, though his participation was crucial in the films making and promotion.
Its not unusual that Tony decided to do something here at the Meyer, Rob Riordan, Meyer board president, said at a news conference at the theater. He and his wife, Brooke Adams, donated to the Meyer when it was first remodeled and helped us to get our feet going that way.
Matzdorff also will attend the screenings.
Im from Green Bay, he said by phone from Los Angeles. Some of our cast is from Green Bay, and our producers are all Wisconsin people.
Finishing touches came together well, Matzdorff said.
Were very proud of it, he said.
Shalhoub, who plays the sheriff in the movie, is a three-time Emmy winner for his role of detective Adrian Monk in the USA Network series, Monk, which is in its eighth and final season.
Shalhoub catches Green Bay Packers games when possible, and a relative said hed be at the Nov. 22 game at Lambeau Field against the San Francisco 49ers.
One of the very few season finales that was really good and spot on.
If one cannot see past the actor’s politics then both TV and movies would be unwatchable.
Agreed, but the most satisfying part of the last case was seeing Ed Begley Jr lying in a pool of his own blood
I think for realism sake they planned to actually kill Ed Begley Jr but S.A.G. filed a lawsuit to block the murder so it was really just makeup.
Shame too.
