Can’t say I’m upset. Education and sports are just about mutually exclusive at this point.
The purpose of college is to educate its students. The purpose of college sports is to raise money from its alumni.

College sports has become professional sports. More crap to distract the lemmings as they are led towards sefdom and dhiminitude.

Well said. The university I am affiliated with is raising undergrad tuition 30+% over this year and the next (grad studies including law and medicine, more), and a number of programs are being cut (not mine, not yet). But the university president, one of the highest paid in the United States, has the temerity to lobby the state legislature for funds to rebuild a football stadium that was remodeled 15 years ago, and the football coach is the state's highest paid employee. The coach makes over 10 times the salary of the governor, state AG, or chief justice. Did I mention this is his first job as Head Coach? I won't mention the school, but I'm pretty disgusted. If this country is to make any progress, it will be through education, not college football. Bread and circuses - I guess if you want to know what's important to you, look at you checkbook.
