Oh Starfire!! This just made me weep. For some reason it just speaks so of my dear dad!!

My dad owned a business " Ideal Mfg Co" and made what he called " Avalon Shades" crafted and woven on large looms. Many celebraties of the 50's and 60's had dad's "shades" in their home. Jaschua Heifitz, Ralph Edwards, etc. Sadly he never patented these shades, and since he has died, the Avalon Shades of dear dad are reduced to only samples that I lovingly display as a bye gone memory!

Sounds like you too have those precious memories!!

HI Amy, Pollywog. Chris Sheats was a dear friend of mine.
He was not related, but I could not have loved the man more than if he had been a blood relative. The Rickenbacker I speak of in the poem is one he rebuilt for me, all I did was refinish it. He, like another more distant aquaintance, John Zeidler, was a gifted man who died way too young.
All my best,

StarfireIV
