The Question Going Forward
Dawn, broke soft upon the ancient ruin there
upon the hillside, above the glen once so fair
Where gentle maids walked with heroic beaus
oh so far back it was, in Times unforgiving flow
Empty places and forgotten races, vanished with the age,
yet, we learned only how to relive the act on lifes stage
Wind song sings of them, in its whispered refrain
the ages moved on, and for mere mortals a bane
Forgotten by most, yet once they had their true life
feeling the joy of beginnings, and endings sad strife
Empty places and forgotten races, vanished with the age,
yet, we learned only how to relive the act on lifes stage
Happy and sad, bad and good, they were themselves true
all the things their human hearts could dream did they do
wonders seen, and beheld in a hand, but secrets won out
and so they passed on, in Time with hardly a shout
Empty places and forgotten races, vanished with the age,
yet, we learned only how to relive the act on lifes stage
Who will ponder my own mortal range across a life
and question my time, its moments of joy and strife
Like deep echoes, so faint does Time sing of them all
and I wonder just who, will answer its haunting sad call
Who will answer?
All who's hearts have been touched
By the words you share with us every day
We all embrace you.
