As much as I dislike the feel wheeling at FSU, it will never be the same without Bowden.

He is loaded. he needs to retire and give someone else a chance. These coaches are like U.S. Senators. I could care less.

For the first time in his 34 seasons at Florida State as coach, Bobby Bowden seemed unsure if he wanted to continue his remarkable coaching career any longer.

What? Bobby Bowden has been a head coach in name only for years now. I suspect the only reason he's hung around this long is because he didn't want Joe Paterno to best his career win record. (That's out the window now, of course, which explains why he "suddenly" doesn't want to coach any longer.) He should have stepped down at least five years ago.

Paterno can hire Bowden as an assistant coach.

Sad to see Bobby leave the game with sub-par seasons like Bear Bryant

Terry Bowden, head coach at division 2 powerhouse North Alabama, also lost today. They were eliminated by Carson-Newman in the Division 2 quarterfinals. Bowden brought in 21 ? division 1 transfers for the 2009 season. {a lot for a D2 school}

Bowden needs to retire for himself and for the school. I am a lifelong diehard, hardcore Gator since birth. Therefore, I would LOVE for Bowden to stay and continue the slide at FSU, but the game has CLEARLY passed him by and it is only fair for him to let the next generation run that program. There is nothing more pathetic than a guy who is the only person who doesn’t realize that his time has passed. His ability to recruit is nonexistant in the State is negligible any more. He needs to go!

Half the time he looks like he doesn’t know where he is.

I would suggest Bowden gets more than a Zippo. (slight reference to the Bear at Kentucky)

FSU owes everything to Bowden, before him FSU was nothing. Bowden made that program what it is, and what it will be in the future. In all seriousness as a Gator alum, I tip my hat to Bobby, a most classy adversary, and a solid Christian by all accounts. And he deserves to go out on his own terms, he’s earned it!
