Understood.

But in this particular case, adultery carries no criminal sentence.

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is a serious felony. Certainly mitigating factors should be considered on her behalf, but she is dangerous. There is no doubt about that. I would not want this woman around my children at all.

Furthermore, whatever advantage she had in a divorce situation as far as children go has been forfeited to Woods at this point. How can she care for them while serving time? How can a judge award custody of them to a violent felon? Bad, bad move on her part IMO.

As you were saying....

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) — Tiger Woods and his wife on Saturday canceled an interview with authorities who are investigating Friday’s car crash outside his home, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

“The Florida Highway Patrol has received information that Tiger Woods and his wife were not available to be interviewed by state troopers, as we had previously scheduled,” said Sgt. Kim Montes, a spokeswoman for the agency. “This announcement came from his agent. Troopers were asked to return tomorrow,” she added.

They will BOTH stick to the story they have put out.....he will not want her to spend one moment in jail...she’s the mother of his children, and if he was cheating, he’ll probably think he deserved what he got.....if he has a conscience.

My theory is that the _itch pulled out the hydrant with her bare hands and smacked Tiger with it!

"Tiger Woods and his wife on Saturday canceled an interview with authorities who are investigating Friday’s car crash outside his home, the Florida Highway Patrol said."

I said this on another thread, but this is why people believe there's a double standard when it comes to justice in America - because there is.

In no other circumstance would police "be turned away". This a criminal investigation involving substantial property damage and personal injury - possibly a felony investigation. If they were two other people, they'd both be at the station house, awaiting the arrival of their respective attorneys.

If the rumors are correct, that Tiger’s fling started in June, then he has been lying to her all this time, and now she finds out the truth and she is incensed. I do not think it is good that she picked up a golf club, but so far we have only heard that she wrecked PROPERTY with it. Tiger was scratched in the face — maybe she scratched him with her hand. I do not condone it but no doubt the betrayal to her was about as painful as anything he received.

I am aware that if there are charges, it looks bad for her, but I think that Tiger should NOT press charges, if all she did was fly into a rage and superficially scratch his face.

Unless she really hit him seriously with the club, she will not get jail time nor will she lose custody. What one might do to a cheating spouse has NO crossover to what one would do to one’s innocent baby.

I’ve seen and heard enough. Tiger made a mistake marrying this trick and needs to get out. Especially, if it can be proven she inflicted wounds on him, he has a good chance for custody of the children. And, do we really know how seriously he has been hurt? Blows to the head can be fatal and/or disable for life.

Would you say the same thing if Tiger suspected his wife of infidelity and then slapped her in the mouth hard enough to draw blood?

No sympathy for him because the Enquirer says he was “cheating?” Wow.

More important than whether he had an “affair” is how badly he has been injured. If one of your neighbors was beating up the other one, would you “let that family be?”

Thank you. I wonder why the violence done to Tiger is assumed to be justifiable.

“If the rumors are correct...”

Mark Sanford was a proven cheater, admitted it himself publicly. Did his wife assault him with a deadly weapon?

What would be your response if she did?

If all that occurred was that she scratched his face with nails, then she will probably be fine. It’s hard to determine what happened due to rumors and falsified police reports. If she hit him with the club, she’s a criminal.

As far as pressing charges goes, it is the state that does that, not the spouse.

I disagree with you as far as what one does to one’s cheating spouse has NO crossover to what one would do to one’s innocent baby.

First off, it shows that she is capable of rage and capable of acting out physically on that rage.

Secondly, have you never heard of a spouse killing their children to get revenge on their mate? Both men and women have done this.

Tiger then became distracted and hit the hydrant and then a nearby tree.

Police said he was laying in the street and incoherent and going in and out as they ministered to him--lot more than getting his face scratched

agree with what you said.......if someone is driving away from a volatile situation, that is the proper thing to do...swinging a golf clue is using a deadly weapon that can easily kill someone..

I wonder if he has been sufficiently clubbed with a club on the head if his golf will suffer. Head injuries can do strange things. Time will tell.

If he doesn’t have a pre-nup, he had to knock one of his lawyers out cold to get into the church!

YES. Not for suspecting, though: only for FINDING OUT. If his wife cheated on him and her two babies, YES, I would hope she would not press charges against him. Do I support a man hitting his woman? Hell no. Men are taught never to hit a woman. But if the moment of him finding out the truth was that horrible, I can "understand" his reaction of passion.

I did not know that the state could press charges without her willingness. What ever happened to that Rhianna thing, where she wouldn’t press charges?

I agree that if she really was hitting him with the club, she’s a criminal and that is far more than just finding out about betrayal and striking out with her hands.

I would never extrapolate from her act that night that she would ever harm her babies. I do not think that because one might hit one’s spouse in a horrible moment of finding out infidelity, that it means one would hit one’s child. No way. I understand your legalese, that it proves she is “capable” of violence. But the love of your life going out and having a full love affair over months with another is probably very very difficult to hear, and being famous makes it only harder. If she slapped and scratched him, chased him down the drive, I think that is a “normal” response. Maybe some people just crumple to the ground and sob. Some get angry.
