Retention depends on the provider but most keep them for a long time.
They can also be stored on the both sides PC.
They can be subpoenaed as well.

Retention depends on the provider but most keep them for a long time. They can also be stored on the both sides PC. They can be subpoenaed as well. To add to that, in regards to my recent and fortunate litigation experience, the providers have them going back for years on their backup systems.
