And then to hear about the Seals getting court-martialed for punching that puke, well that is the last straw.
~~~
Bout the last straw here too,,,
I can’t blame anybody that leaves the military now,,,
My house-mate’s son is in eastern B-Dad now,,,3rd.tour,,,
2nd.BCT.10th.Mtn.Div.,,,
She was hoping he would get out when his last enlistment
was up...
FDR vs. Obama?
Even a capitalist like Conrad Black wrote a biography of FDR that
gave him credit for being pro-America and fighting WWII to win.
And you should hear my flyover-country relatives that were alive
and ages 10-15 during the later part of FDR’s Administration.
They didn’t love everything about FDR but give him credit for keeping
the country from going Communist/Facist during The Great Depression.
And they HATE Obama for being the Anti-American he reveals himself to
be every day.
I think the only reason they won’t be committing suicide soon was
seeing AG Holder getting his head handed to him on national TV...
and the resurgence of some American spirit (e.g., including Palin’s public appearances)
I have served since Bush Senior and REFUSE to have the zero signature on my retirement certificate.
My father has Slick Willy on his and it HAUNTS him. Partly becuase I point it out everytime I visit him. ;)
I suppose I can forge a nice Reagan one if it comes to pass.
A good friend of my stepson was enlisted right before the elections, and after the elections, in not so many words, I told him that worried for him under the (non)leadership of Obama, and he looked me straight in the eye and said with a smile, “Don’t worry, I’m gonna be a marine.” Very proud of that young man today.
Some committed suicide in WWII when they were rejected by the military bc they had bad vision in one eye, bad hearing in one ear, etc. I think that is a travesty. Maybe the armed forces ought to lighten up a bit. No one said they had to be Rangers or SEALs..
Has nothing to do with the military, it's about serving and probably dying for the un-American objectives of a Kenyan born Communist named Mao-bama.
“And I disagree with Becks heart and I dont like him trying to discourage our young men from serving in the military...”
First of all, you are free to disagree, but we are not talking about “our young men.” He was talking about HIS nephew. He has every right to be concerned.
Secondly, he did not tell his nephew not to reenlist. What he DID say, was that he could not guarantee that if he did, his Commander in Chief OR the Congress would have his back. And he is right.
But he told his nephew he could not make this decision for him; that it was his call. Don’t believe the twits who tweet. All is not as they are making it seem.
I disagree. Everything in life is about leadership. My 16 year old has been thinking about joining. His grandfather was a flight surgeon at West Point in the early 60s. I was born there and have always admired and respected those that serve this great country. Since the Manchurian Candidate’s election I have been discouraging my son from going this route. Leadership starts at the top. The Ft. Hood massacre illustrated the vaccuum of leadership that exists in our armed forces.
*give him credit for keeping
the country from going Communist/Facist during The Great Depression*
Alger Hiss, Owen Lattimore, Laughlin Currey, Harry Dexter white, and the list goes on. FDR’s Gov was loaded with Marxists and Communist cells. What FDR was doing with WPA, etc. is the same as Obama today.
Check out Operation Keelhaul.
Dozens and dozens of my neighbors as a kid were just a few years out of the concentration camps of Europe.
My great Uncle helped liberate Buchenwald which I later saw when I spent time in East Germany in 1983.
A relative came home in a box from the Bataan Death March
because they were short weapons for starters. His family
members serve today.
Thank goodness my many relatives today who serve mostly in the Marines with several tours in Iraq and Afghn. don’t
listen to twits like Beck.
“it’s about serving and probably dying”
Probably dying? What do you think the death rate today is?
Figures so noted with an asterisk (*) indicates deaths as a result of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
You may initially feel confused when you look at these figures - especially when you see that in 1980, during the term of President Jimmy Carter,there were 2,392 US military fatalities. What this clearly indicates is that our media and our liberal politicians pick and choose and tend to present only those facts that support their agenda driven reporting.
If I was Beck's nephew. I'd get out while the getting’s good.
Jack.
Bush kept the terrorists from hitting us after 9/11.
It took less than a year for Obama to let them strike again on American soil
And I disagree with Becks heart and I dont like him trying to discourage our young men from serving in the military, not only does the nation need their service to keep from having to send our women folk, but the young men usually get one shot to serve in their life and if they get talked out of it, then they rarely get around to serving.
What is Becks military service, he graduated High School during the Reagan years.
His nephew was going to reenlist. He has already served just as I did in the Army. I have all the respect in the world for those in uniform but I certainly understand why many are upset about the current mission, lack of decisive leadership, and rules of engagement in Afghanistan.
Many of my family and friends are currently deployed or were recently there and the news is discouraging.
1. You cannot build a nation from scratch in a generation. It’s even more difficult when the nation is dominated by muslim tribes that are decades behind western civilization. There was no “nation” to build there. No infrastructure, poor education, and geography make it more difficult. The Taliban and AQ chose it for a reason.
2. You can’t fight a war on one side of a border when the enemy is based on the other side. See Vietnam for the prime example.
3. You can’t fight a war with lawyers dictating tactical decisions and rules of engagement. It’s even worse when your own side is anxious to aggressively prosecute soldiers for anything that upsets the ruling elite.
4. You can’t build a nation when your native partners are corrupt and ineffective.
There are many more problems but those are the most significant ones IMO. I love our military but they are being asked to do the improbable in a conventional tactical environment under a microscope with strict rules.
Afghanistan was and will remain the perfect spec ops environment to bleed the enemy and deny him a safe haven but it’s not well suited to the same blueprint we used (with much difficulty) in Iraq. Our military exists to kill and destroy in our defense. Those who expect it to evolve into the “Peace Corps in BDU’s” are calling the shots.
I have a son and I want him to serve. However, I am glad that he is not yet old enough. Everyone develops their own opinions but I know many others who have served or currently serve that feel the same way.
Regardless, I am proud of my service and will continue to pray each and every day for those fine men and women who sacrifice so much to allow us to sit comfortably on our fourth points of contact and debate this.
Sorry but your entire post made the point that Beck is discouraging military service, unless that was a secret conversation with his nephew that Beck never intended to be made public.
Beck graduated High School under President Reagan, did he enlist?
Evidently Glenn Beck speaking out publicly against military service has made a big impression on many of you.
Thank you for a fine post!
Different circumstances.As socialist as fdr was he was in the war to win it.The atomic program was proof enough of that.The muzzi in charge now is going all out to destroy this country from within.The nephew can help us fight them here.
You aint getting any pussies to be combat troops so your idea with replacing the good troops with bad aint happening.
Please clarify your statement.
