And I missed your asking me when I heard of Palin. All I read was you implying...something about people having discussions about Palin here before this ID's entrance date. Don't complain about not getting answers to unasked questions.
I learned about Sarah Palin only with the rest of the names on McCain's potential VP list. After a little bit of reading it was pretty easy for me to win with her name in the pool - Palin was the only candidate to counter the Obama factor. She was the anti-Obama. And to a large part the anti-McCain as well. That she could deliver a speech—really connect with her audience—was an added and unexpected benefit.
As for this being an anti-Romney site, well, sometimes old sheepdogs can learn. Even the ones who deny any superiority in their position while emphasizing just that superiority.
The real question is, how many Mormon posts precede Romney's appearance on FR and do they increase after Palin is selected as VP? After that, how many Mormon posts are made by user ID's that can be associated with Palin-for-president support.
There was life at freerepublic before you showed up three days before Palin was chosen for veep. People here even had discussions on Mitt Romney and other topics years before you signed up, or had ever heard of Sarah Palin.

So I was correct of course in post 26.
If you want to learn about FR and Mitt Romney then you could back to it's earliest days, but to save yourself time start looking at threads starting in 2006 .

Actaully, quite a few. The FR “mormon war” started long before Mitt came on the scene. I’ve been on these threads off and on since I joined.
There was an increase in ‘anti-mormonism’ posts IN THE POLITICAL threads after Romney announced, but no real increase after Palin’s selection.
This isn’t about Mitt, it is about saving souls.
