My youngest daughter played varsity basketball in high school. I watched pretty much every game. The reffing was almost laughable. In the first couple of games I thought it was just a “girls basketball doesn’t get good refs” sort of thing. It became pretty obvious what they were doing after watching a few games.

It angered me because I didn’t really care who won or lost the game, except when it was obvious that the decisive team in the game was the refs. I normally get angry at pretty much nothing. It became hard to watch those games. And the college games were no better.

I quit watching basketball when they quit calling the most obvious infractions. Those are: traveling, palming the ball, and double dribbling. I’d like to see one NBA “star” dunk a ball without committing at least one if not more of those three antiquated fouls.
Pro basketball, and sadly for the most part college hoops has become just another form of entertainment.
