I didn’t even watch the show until the last five minutes, and I nearly turned away from it in disgust after the first minute, but kept watching thinking that something might gel in his vocal performance, since the staging was a tiresomely
in-your-face, and over-the-top joke.
Instead it just got worse. My whole point was the (obviously arguable one) that this guy, if he doesn’t change his ways, is going to throw away all his talents, which as I said, are considerable, if you’ve listened to what he did in musical theater years ago, in a show as ‘straight’ as Brigadoon.
