A Bridgeville man told police he killed his girlfriend's puppy yesterday afternoon because the animal would not behave before the Steelers football game broadcast.
William Woodson, 22, is being held on $25,000 bail in the Allegheny County Jail, pending a preliminary hearing on animal cruelty at 1 p.m. next Monday before District Judge Elaine McGraw in Bridgeville.
The puppy, a 13-week-old pit bull named Flip, had been the focal point of recent arguments between Mr. Woodson and his girlfriend, Christine Gielarowski, 21, with whom Mr. Woodson lives on Jane Way.
Ms. Gielarowski still may face charges after she gave police a false name and address, then refused to identify her boyfriend as the suspect, officials said.
A witness called Bridgeville police at 1:09 p.m. after the suspect, who was supposed to have been walking the dog, instead was kicking it down the street, according to a police affidavit.

It rememds me when I reported a neighbor kid after spotting him flipping is pet puppy backwards with his foot over and over again in his back yard. Someone can only witness that for so long before doing something.
“How does a 13-week old puppy misbehave?”
Although of a magnitude less than kittens, all puppies are trouble looking for a place to happen. Not that I’ve loved ours less, and am very much more a cat person, but you’ve got to recognize facts.
FWIW, so far as I know, teenagers are about the same.
Now, how about the cops who shot pets?
Drawn and quartered springs to mind, but I’m lazy and short on imagination this afternoon.
This makes me sick. I want to kick him in the gut repeatedly so he can feel what it’s like to be abused, then kick him up and down the street. Worthless piece of garbage. My eyes are filled w/tears.
How much time have you got? sarcasm/
I wonder if this guy lives in an area with anti-Pit Bull Laws? If he did, all he'd have to do is p*ss off a neighbor & the cops would have taken the puppy to a shelter where it would have been euthanized with 72 hours. No legal problems, no more puppy (sarcasm tag still applies).
I could write a book. I am thinking about renaming her Marley's Ghost.
Patsy when she was more behaved.
A few weeks pilloried in front of town hall would be a good start to punishment for this piece of filth.
Awwwww.
I hate to see I called that one for what it was worth.
Where is Chet99?
I've got my new little yellow girl now - picked her up Thursday. She's 8 months old and she's really good as gold -- her mistakes are all inadvertent and due to my failure to supervise, because most of the time she acts like a grown dog and I forget that she's a puppy!
Miss Katy.
Miss Katy and The Pack. ("No! It's MY duck!")
Sounds like you need to get Marley's Ghost into a good training program that involves LOTS of energy (obedience, sadly, does not). Agility, flyball, or my favorite for Labs, Hunting Retriever.
You knew to ping me, but I was already here and posting the latest pics of Miss Katy . . .
She’s beautiful and I love her name.
Mine was named Katie Scarlett.
The witness called police after he found the animal lying limp and dying in the 100 block of Union Street. By the time police arrived, the dog was dead and Mr. Woodson was gone.
This appears to indicate that both of them were walking the dog together, and that she stood by while he kicked the life out of a 13 week old puppy. Then she left it on the street to die as well.
What a couple of useless pieces of garbage. Maybe they'll both smoke a bowl and wander in front of a speeding bus before they can reproduce.
Oh she is a pretty one. Looks like she has the mohawk down here back. If Patsy was a male I would have called her Jarhead.
She just doesn't have the personality of Scarlett O'Hara, and her hair's the wrong color!
A future father of the year award winner, no doubt.
She doesn't have even the wavy coat down the spine that my Choc has. But her coat is not seal-slick like my Black girl's. It's rather coarse and stiff, with a plush undercoat. It's just exactly like her father's coat - he's a big Yellow boy with a very laid back temperament. She got his personality as well as his coat and his build. Compared to my other two girls she looks like a little wrestler -- broad broad chest and muscled-up shoulders. Lots of power in that front end. She'll be a good cold water dog, no speedster like my Black. And I think she may be almost as bright as my Choc - I love my Black girl dearly, but she is NOT the brightest bulb on the porch. But oh my goodness does she have speed and drive! If Katy has HALF the drive of Ruby she will be a very good retriever!
Maybe it is the yellow coat that makes them stand out. Pasty is the same way.
Wish I could let her run wild. I only allow it when we are in the woods, near the creek. (I have 7 acres of woods with a creek running through)
I worry that she might see a deer and cross over the creek after them.
Why don't you train her to "here", then Ecollar condition her? Then you would know she would always come. I always have Ecollars on mine when we're out, that's my ace in the hole.
Who hates puppies?
