"This must be one of the funniest stories I have ever read. Certainly, it accurately represents fact, though the story itself may not be true. I’d guess that it is true."

Our good friend, abb, checked out it's validity my friend.
Per post #50: "FWIW, Snopes says it’s real. Don’t recall us here at FR discussing it, though.
http://www.snopes.com/rumors/tributes/teardrop.asp
Tear Drop Monument"

No abb, I don't recall ever hearing a single peep on this, either. Odd. I'd have thought a gift from a former cold war enemy would've been front page.

Wonder what the motive(s) were/are, aside from the usual shenanigans involved with executing the Sin of Omission as the AP excels.

Something else was behind the silence, lack of coverage and total blackout until now.
Too bad we've no *Journalists* detailed to check that question out. Maybe Pravda or the Canada Free Press can find out? LOL

I wrapped the rope around my waist and twisted the end so I would have a good hold. The deer still just stood and stared at me, but you could tell it was mildly concerned about the whole rope situation.

I knew you were screwed right there.

As someone else said, why didn’t the guy just continue to feed the deer as he was and shot it when it was fattened up?

LOL, the squirrel grenade was pretty good too.
Now imagine if the squirrel and the deer teamed up.
They’d be unstoppable.

My Brother-in-law roped a coyote from horseback one time. He almost had to ride his horse to death to keep the coyote out of the saddle with him. He finally drug it past a friend and got him to shoot it. That was his last coyote roping.

OMG that was so funny. I printed it because I did not have time to read it on line. I took it with me to VA hospital this morning where my son had an appointment & absolutely LMAO. I then passed it around the waiting room so all could enjoy. Waiting room was all quiet and serious when we arrived and when we left everyone was talking to each other. What an excellent ice braker!
