I live in a Phoenix neighborhood and I think people left their cats to return to Mexico when their homes foreclosed. I fed one stray and she had 4 kittens - one of those had 3 kittens, etc. The neighbors had the same thing happen with the same father different mother. I’m up to my elbows in cats and every one of them is cute!

They are, but unfortunately I see grief in your near future unless you, and your neighbors can assert control over the situation. There will be some heartbreak, but it has to be done or they will take over six, or seven kittens in a litter at a time.
We captured the irresponsible neighbor’s mother cat amongst the original 27, and of course speying and neutering all the rest that we didn’t have put down due the Feline Leukemia resolved our problem, but not everybody can afford to do what we did.
Animal control was no help here in California as they only WANT to do dogs apparently, so we did what we had to do ourselves.
