Some weeks back I remember seeing a flurry of ads warning about putative dangers of the stuff. Of course that might have just been the lawsuit troll of the day.
The internet buy me ads all claim they have the pure stuff and all others use fillers that have no value.
Basically the stock up of food/supplies I have done for emerg included goodies in the freezer and that was a Huge mistake to think that the freezer had some sort of unreachable power.
This was over the last year and being on many road trips I got into the mindset of whats one stop at Mc D or other fatty food at events we attended.
The ole who hoo were on a road trip.LOL
Not good if the road trips are often during the week.
I must say the two things I did try were oyster shooters (that will hold me for twenty years, more a bravado thing to do and the first time then second on the next trip of Fried Pork Belly and Grits, had never in my life ate grits and they were good)
That is just the tip of the iceberg, so now the last month I am returning to what works diet wise not what is yummy all the time diet wise.
The natives who use it use ONLY the tiny amount of pulp surrounding the seed.
They seem to do well on *that*.
What you buy contains the seeds and every other thing to “plump up” the juice since just the pulp juice would be exorbitantly expensive.
Experts question both the nutritional value and “safety” of consuming the seeds.
[the natives absolutely NEVER do]
It has antioxidant properties but common, cheaper blueberries FAR outstrip acai’s nutritional content.
There are also only 2 “harvest times” for the berry and God forbid you get the “wrong” season’s harvest.
It tastes even worse than usual and can make you physically sick.
[been there, done that, the company recalled that batch]
I will never waste another dime on “Oprah’s Snake Oil”.
