In the end, it was "Over the Rainbow" that made Eva Cassidy a star, but it didn't happen until five years after her death in 1993.

Oh, my. Isn't she an amazing voice. Such a sad story. Somewhere Over The Rainbow has always been one of my all time favorite songs. Like everyone else, I grew up believing that no one would ever sing it like Judy Garland. Then I heard Eva's version. It was so beautiful that I cried and I still do every time I hear her sing it. I became a fan that day.
Its amazing how well those long ago recordings hold up. I can only imagine how glorious those songs would sound had they been recorded with today's technology.
