They will not only raise the cap of paying FUI on the first $7,000 annual they’ll raise rates probably as high as 8% of pay. In five years I had no claims until 2008. My rate went from .05% to 5.4% with just this one claim.

I was talking to my doctor last month. He said that the taxes and fees in Alabama make it cheaper for them to shut down early one day a week than to run a full 40 hour a week operation. They can’t make a profit if they operator more than 35 hours a week.

I took our family business part time 3 years ago. No full time employees.

Took a job for two years with another industry related company while my wife went back to college. She has found a job in her field and is very happy. I left to go back to the family business.

I’ve always thought employers should include all expenses on pay stubs. Employees could see that SoS is double what they pay. Every law they pass is a cost. If I’m worth $20 dollars an hour to you, you can only pay me $10 because of all the add ons.

In order to save a program that pays out to the unemployed, the government in Florida is going to make it more difficult for employers to hire or retain workers. During an economic downturn.

The consequence of this will be that more businesses will go out of business, and more unemployed people will be collecting unemployment, which will require another increase in the fee, which will drive another wave of businesses out of business, which will result in another wave of unemployed people...

This can't be accidental.

The Democrats have decided to completely destroy the economy at last, so they can claim that democracy and free-enterprise (which we have not had for a long time) don't work.

They finally get to replace it with something better. Heh.

re: include all expenses on pay stubs I worked for a funeral home in 1962 that was family owned. Several times a year they would pay you in cash, every thing you earned. Then they would make you give them back the various things they had to pay out of the money you had earned. The Dad wanted employees to realize that what the took home each payday was a lot less than it was costing him to employee you. IIRC, I made $200 a month in those days and I would end up giving back about $30. Goodness knows how much it would be today.

And by the way, for that $200 a month I worked a whole more than I would today. We had every other night and every other weekend off, that was it. No paid holidays, no vacation, etc. When you went to work on Monday you were there until Tues. at 6 PM. On your weekend to work you went in on Fri. AM and were there until Monday at 6 PM. You did everything including mowing the lawn, polishing the brass, mopping the entire garage ever Sat. morning, washing and polishing the rolling stock, etc. Ah, the good ol' days!
