Im all for anything that can help the nerves. But Im not familiar with these products, how do you use it? You dont take it orally do you?
Most of YoungLiving's essential oils can be taken orally, as they are therapeutic grade. I take Melissa (one drop only -- I believe there are approx. 70-80 drops per bottle) in a clear vegetable capsule (they sell them on their site or they can be gotten elsewhere) once or twice a day and swallow it with 4 ounces of rice milk -- my son uses water. I've also diffused Melissa with their home diffuser that I purchased, but this takes 10-15 drops of the stuff, and like I mentioned, it's pricey. Two of my four children have tried it, and my son now REQUESTS it. My daughter would like to use it, but she relinquished the request to help save funds. Melissa is also incredible with cold sores. You can bust them before they even take hold. Here's a link to their product:

You can become a distributor at YoungLiving without spending too much money -- I think it is $40 -- and you then are guaranteed the lower cost of their oils/products. They do not require you ever sell anything, so it was a good deal for me.
Of course, anything taken should be discussed with a medical professional first as the oils can affect other medication one takes. The site's warning is: "If pregnant or under a doctor's care, consult your physician."
It is an incredible nerve tonic. Anyone depressed, anxious, stressed out or pooped out that hasn't gotten help elsewhere (that they are satisfied with) and doesn't mind trying out new things (it's of course a risk as it's costly), would most likely benefit in some way. I, myself, am completely hooked. They have other helpful oils like Brain Power (which can be used for ADD) and Helichrysum (for hearing loss).

I decline to comment on the grounds that some female Freepers might know where I live.

Thanks so much for the info. It sounds great, but that’s way too pricey for me right now. Maybe in the future I will be able to try it.
I also have a friend that would be good candidate for it, but I know her well enough to know that she would never try it at that price, lol.
Thanks again for the information. Hopefully I’ll remember our conversation when I am in a better financial condition. :)

You're welcome ... yes, I was pretty desperate ... I'm fighting a thyroid condition, and this was recommended for it, so I went with it and found it really helped my nervous system as well; however, I became a distributor first so I get it for $150 and I also receive almost 9% back on that at a later date ... so it's like $140 plus tax and shipping, and anyone can become a distributor like I mentioned. So in the future, just remember the song [Sweet] Melissa by the Allman Brothers and you'll then remember the product too.:)

Ha, great song. I have been desperate like that before, but I’m doing relatively ok right now. And I’ve got a rather complicated condition, where I usually have the opposite reaction to herbs, vitamins, minerals and such. They make the anxiety worse. I believe it’s from being on ADs for nearly 20 years. I have been very gradually tapering the dose down for a year and a half. I should be completely off of them in six months, give or take. I also quit a 30 year cigarette habit five months ago, which didn’t help.
But anyway, that paradoxical reaction to things may not normalize until I’m off the meds for quite some time, even a couple years perhaps, but I don’t know. I have a feeling the Melissa is good stuff, but in my case there is a good chance it wouldn’t even work until my neurotransmitters and whatever are more normal.
