Does that have everyone correct? I left off the Bears-49ers, since some of us didn't make a pick. I think bender and I picked the 49ers. Not sure about the rest. We're in agreement on the Dolphins, Norvers, Broncos and Pats.

Okay, I think I've got everything right. Only problem is I haven't looked at any of the games yet.

In the first half, big' ol is looking smart with the Panthers over the Falcons so far. Denver and Minnesota games are closer than expected. Everything else is going according to plan.

Texas shouldn’t play for the National Championship until we can find out if they are even the best team in Texas. Bring back the Southwest Conference!

I wish I could believe in the Bengals, but the Steelers seem to have an Ohio Hex going on in games that count.

And don’t look now, but June Jones has SMU bowl eligible and poised to make it to the C-USA Championship game, with Houston’s loss yesterday.

I’ve thought for the last two weeks the Saints were living off of luck. They’re a good team, but you only have so many 4th quarter comebacks in you. Didn’t expect the Rams to hang with them, though.

As Chris Berman says, “That’s why they play the game.”

Nobody from a major conference is going to play TCU or Boise State unless they have to. There's too much for them to lose.

The NCAA, which makes ACORN look legit, is there to ensure the big boys stay on top. That said, having gone to UT, I bleed burnt orange.

Until the system changes, being undefeated is more important than quality wins for the traditional powers.

I took a Con Law class at SMU a billion years ago... and the last question on the final was "How has this course influenced you?"

I answered, "It made me realize I do not have the bladder... to be a lawyer!"

SMU used to be a great team, but got smashed with the NCAA death penalty. I don’t think they did anything that many other colleges haven’t done, but they were more transparent. With SoCal being out of the major bowl race now, the NCAA may decide to investigate the Reggie Bush payola scandal. They wouldn’t do it for a while cause USC was a cash cow on the west coast.

My change would be to draw random opponents for two games for each of the top 32 BCS teams, so you’d have to play two quality non-conference games each year, one on the road, one at home. Do you realize Florida has not gone out of state for a non-conference game since 1991? That’s ridiculous.
