Oasis of the Seas, larger than life on the ocean's horizon Friday morning, swaggered into Port Everglades, sounding her horn as a crowd of onlookers at John U. Lloyd State Park beach let out a cheer.

``Wow!'' cried one early riser, joining revelers with binoculars and blankets to greet the 225,000-ton megaship. `It's so amazing!'' shrieked another. ``It's huge.''

The world's largest cruise ship was accompanied by a flotilla of small boats and doused by water cannons as she headed into her new home port.

Looks VERY, VERY top heavy.
I wouldn't want to be on the top deck in rough seas, I don't care what they use for countering roll or pitch.

Final view of the moon thru a stateroom window on the top deck.

Wow. Beautiful picture. What is the raised area in the back?

Wow. Beautiful picture. What is the raised area in the back?

A huge wave rolling silently towards the observer--most likely a "final" view of the moon for the hapless passengers aboard a ship like the Oasis of the Seas.

I cannot imagine a worse vacation than being on a cruise ship, especially the biggest cruise ship with the most people, all telling you about their grandchildren or trying to sell you insurance.

I have not gone 'cruising' and have no desire to do so. I know several people who love it and have gone to exciting places. The one thing that I find that all love the most about 'cruising' is the non-stop ability to eat and eat all they want to eat when they want to eat.

One Torp from a Terrorist sub{ If they have one, and they might} or a Bio Bomb on board make 9-11 seem like a cakewalk.
Wouldnt step foot on that on a bet.

Me neither, but that’s mostly because a giant floating hotel is not the least attractive to me as a vacation spot. You’d have to pay me. Quite a bit.

Ditto wow. Where and when was that photo taken? Is that for real & if so, how did the photo get retrieved. Seems that nothing except perhaps a submarine would survive that.

Anchored in international waters, next to a similarly anchored floating airfield, and ya got yaself a country! :’)

Hmmm. Didn’t know about those rogue waves on the ocean — unsettling. I knew about those unexpected waves on shore but thought it was because the wave hits the land shelf. We lost a 4 yr old little friend in a rogue wave on the Pacific. His grandfather went in after him and almost drowned. Boy was instantly gone. So, so sad.
