wow. ok, could you take a breath and rephrase, please?
$10 gas tax every time i get on the subway? $2.75 subway ride? i thought it was $2.25?
i forget how much they charge now since NYC cops ride the subways for free.
and besides, my tax rate is significantly higher than most cities. but i'm not complaining.

Last time I was in NYC (late 2007) the talk was it was being increased to $2.75 in the new year, I used to live there ,,, prices in general are the same or LOWER there for most staples ... you better not be bitching about the taxes ,, YOU'RE ON THE RECEIVING END! .. and yes even though the subway system was completed 50+ years ago I am paying about $10 in subsidies for New Yorkers to ride.. they only pay about 25% of the cost... of course the cost is inflated to steal more tax money from the other states and the gas tax/highway fund.
