MONTICELLO – Police in Monticello have arrested a Monticello man on an arrest warrant charging him with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and misdemeanors for reckless endangerment in the second degree, menacing in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

On September 17, 2009, it is alleged that while at the Sleepy Hollow Apartments on Terry Lane in Monticello, Alberto Conde, 23, was involved in a dispute with several people inside an apartment.

Conde left and returned with a vicious and enraged pit bull. He allegedly used the animal to physically menacing several people including small children.

He made repeated threats that he was going to release the animal inside the apartment and kill everyone, it is alleged.

Conde fled the apartment when police were called to the scene.

He was arrested on Tuesday night while hiding in an apartment in the same complex.

It’s interesting to compare situations.

Threatening someone with a dog will get you arrested. But evidence of someone in the military plotting to commit violent acts, or consorting with known enemies of our country, will not get you in any trouble. Until after you commit a violent act, that is.
