Just a thought... what does the dash between the two dates in the title signify. This is just a curiosity question; what is different and what is it about history that just might indicate that little dash.. MIGHT be significant?

This certainly isn't a test and there shouldn't be a critique as to right or wrong pertaining to the answers provided... this exercise is just "food for thought"... ?

Depends on where you see it....in an obituary I tend to think birth-death dates.

In a commentary I think of the designator as an era, a time from to, and no I will not go any deeper than that

IMO... plenty

None on US soil. There were plenty of plots and plenty of successful ones over seas ( including attacks against us).

We were more vigilant

I’ll go just a little further than the long march did. The two dates bracket our first meaningful response to Islamic terrorism, and our “official” “head-in-the-sand” denial that terrorism, let alone Islamic terrorism, exists. Sheesh!

Here are some not listed on the JIDF site:

• One week after 9/11. The Anthrax attacks. First letter postmarked 9/18/01, last known letter postmarked 10/9/01. Personally I think those attacks were arranged by Mohammed Atta, using accomplices he met on his drive north to Boston from Florida. Those accomplices then skedaddled back to Libya, Egypt and Pakistan very soon after they dropped the letters off.

• Just less than a month after 9/11: 10/3/01, Croatian Damir Igric emulates the 9/11 hijackers and uses a utility knife to slash the throat of a Greyhound bus driver. The bus crash kills 7 including the crazy copycat.

• Two months after 9/11, on 11/12/2001 — it is possible that American Airlines Flight 587 out of JFK, which crashed in Queens NY, was destroyed by a shoe bomber like jailhouse Muslim convert Richard Reid.

• Three months after 9/11, on 12/22/01, Richard Reid attempted to blow up American Airlines Flight 63 out of Paris originally routed for Miami. He attempted to use an explosive hidden in his sneakers — the passengers stopped him.

• 7/4/02. Two occurred on the Fourth of July the next year — the Jihad connected LAX machine gunner, Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, an Egyptian living in the US, and the wanna-be Jihadi kid, Charles Bishop, in Florida who flew a stolen small plane into a high rise. Hadayet is included in the JIDF list, Bishop is not. Teenager Bishop left a suicide note saying he loved Bin Laden, the Palestinians, hated Israel and claimed to have had met with Al Qaeda. His estranged dad was a Syrian of last name Bishara.

• 6/16/06. Mujtaba Rabbani Jabbar, 25, Muslim medical student from a wealthy Baltimore neighborhood went to a movie theater in the Jewish neighborhood of nearby Owings Mills and shot Paul Schrum, 62, three times in the upper body with a .357 magnum handgun, killing him. Schrum was reportedly wearing a baseball cap with a logo that marked him as a likely Jew.

• 6/20/06. Glen Cove, Long Island, NY. Sayed Khaled El-Waraky, 19, of Vienna, Va, an Egyptian national, jumped behind the wheel of his Jaguar and sneered, "I'll kill you all," before plowing into a crowd of horrified bystanders, critically injuring two.
