"V" the Movie/Series (the first installment on Hulu.com)
Hulu.com ^ | 11/8/2009

I watched "V" for the second time today on Hulu.com. I know some folks didn't enjoy it, but I thought it was nicely paced, well written, and well acted.

It was also impressive for its timely Obama references. Additionally, I was surprised by the parallel of the "Visitor" lies and those of the Obama administration. Both seem to think that their "end" justifies their "means". Both the Visitors and the Obama administration are excellent liars...and for the same reasons!

Here's the link to Hulu (vy impressive and timely IMO)>>>

V on Hulu.com.

Pacing was way too fast. It should have taken 2-3 hours in reach some of the story points concluded a half an hour in. It seemed extremely edited.

Still, though, I appreciate the effort. I heard ABC is already forcing changes to make it less an (unintentional?) Obama parable.

I think it was heavily edited, they changed the show producer and demoted him, maybe because of the similarities between the aliens and Obama

There was a thread on the new V sometime last week. I DL'd it and watched a couple of times and decided I liked its debut episode. Well done, good script and good characters.
We'll see how they maintain the momentum. Definitely worth watching at least a time or two.

I heard ABC is already forcing changes to make it less an (unintentional?) Obama parable.

If you watched the initial episode, I think you'll agree that any change to tilt the story line away from Obama would kill it.

Add me as well. It was a little bit fast, should have had a build up but it is a good show.
Waiting for the Prisoner remake on AMC. That show worked well on a short run format{ 6 episodes}.
the British “Office” had the right idea. Make a show that had a shelf life of 12 episodes, that way it keeps from going stale.

It has been explained by people here on FR who know the process that once a series is designed and set in motion, the originator is replace by someone who can simply implement the design.

That said...we will see if the story shifts blame away from Obama...

IMO, the die is cast. Any diversion from the story line in the first installment would kill it.

The first installment is the death knell for the Obama adminstration. I would begin to worry if it somehow disappears from Hulu.

You're on the list!

BTW, to all who are on the list...please feel free to notify those on the list if you find an article that has not yet been pinged.

My concern is purely the spreading of information...there is no pride of authorship here.

I liked the 1st episode, but you’re absolutely right. Not much of a shock to learn that our benefactors are evil reptiles, when that’s revealed after about 30 minutes.

the British “Office” had the right idea. Make a show that had a shelf life of 12 episodes, that way it keeps from going stale.

The Brits know how to do it. "Fawlty Towers" was 12 episodes over four years. All classics.

"Life On Mars" was two seasons of eight episodes each. Perfect.
