This is part of an excellent post dated Nov 6, presently shown at the bottom of the author's web page. The author, Jerry Pournelle, notes a book I'd like to investigate written by Richard Weaver, "Ideas Have Consequences"
To: ransomnote
I didn't even know about Pournelle's site, so thanks for this posting.
His and Larry Niven's INFERNO introduced me to Dante's original.

Radical Islam is an insane murder cult; moderate Islam is its Trojan Horse in the West.

If I’m not mistaken.. Isn’t there an audio of Obama saying he stands with Islam? I forget where I heard it.. from his book?
To: divine_moment_of_facts
I think it was in one of his books ‘...if things should take a bad turn, I shall stand with Islam’
To: divine_moment_of_facts
There is a quote from his book that is often excerpted a little bit out of context.
When talking about Arabs in his Senate District he writes something like “They require assurance that I will stand with them if the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

That’s the quote I was trying to think of.. Thank you!
To: freespirited
Thank you for clarifying - I think that was the quote I was mangling.

Niven and Pournelle were among the authors that hooked me on Sci-fi. I also liked Vonnegut (sp?) and Arthur C. Clark among others.
To: ransomnote
Yes, those are all goodies--Vonnegut's Welcome to the Monkey House was a great collection.
When I was a kid, my first-ever SF book was an Andre Norton. Her juvenile adventures were the equal of Heinlein's, to me.

"Whether the disloyalty is due to a psychotic episode or some other cause is not important."Yes, the cause of the MSM's disloyalty is not as important as jettisoning them as soon as possilble. Although the cause should still be examined to prevent future disloyalty.
Causes like:
- MSM ownership by foreigners including middle easterners,
- selection and grooming of liberal literary students by liberal college literary departments,
- infiltration of the MSM by gays,
- etc.

I Grok that! Norton yes! Heinlen YES! And the modern sci fi writers just don’t have ‘it’ compared to those greats you mention IMHO
To: magooey
Yes. I never liked that quote because it almost reads like “they want to know if I am still with them or if I have become too Americanized to put their interests first”
To: ransomnote
I was thinking the same thing myself. The guy made a choice, a choice to break his oath. Time and again it’s shown that muslims have only one loyalty, and they will betray everything else.

Agreed. I haven't read SF in years, but it's funny, every time I go to the bookstore, which is weekly, I wander over there and look around.
98% of it is Star Trek/Star Wars or LOTR variations or vampire romances.
The rest is postmodern navel-gazing.
The few space adventures are plastic, with boring characters.
So I read other stuff.

Sadly, Vonnegut wandered into the cages of the monkey house himself sometime around
Breakfast of Champions. He got crazier and crazier (and leftier and leftier) as time went on.
Even late in life he did have Geraldo Rivera's number, though.
