A man sought in connection with the shooting of Seattle Police Officer Timothy Brenton has been shot by Seattle police in Tukwila, according to a law enforcement source.

The man, 41, was shot in the head and is being taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to Interim Seattle Police Chief John Diaz.

The apartment complex is in the 13700 block of 56th Avenue South.

A second suspect is being sought, according to police.

Police traced a car being sought in connection with Brenton's shooting to the apartment complex, Diaz said. As the officers approached the apartment a man opened fire and was shot.

No officers were wounded.

Police have found the car at the apartment, Diaz said.

Kind of ironic, sounds fairly sure that it's the right guy.

Mourners gather at KeyArena for slain officer's memorial

Probably precautionary, but the Bomb Squad truck just pulled up. There is a possibility that this guys or these guys were involved in the torching of the police cars a few weeks ago.

The reward was over $100,000. I wonder if there was a tip, or it was just good old police work?

Appreciate you filling us in on what’s being covered live. I’d bet their pretty concerned about possibly having bomb material to contend with in the turkeys apartment.

I know they’ve been looking for that Datsun for a couple days or so. $100,000 is a pretty good chunk of money, someone might have tipped them off to the car.

Good Lord. King 5 News (an NBC affiliate) is asking if maybe he was someone who wanted to join the police, but failed to qualify, and was taking revenge. They couldn’t go 30 minutes without coming up with some stupid theories.

Jim Foreman should stick to real breaking news stories....like..."it's early December, and look here (scuffs feet in slush)....it's snowing at Snoqualmie Pass!!!!!!"

I didn't know this. KOMO web site has a link to a live Seattle Police scanner. I use to love listening to my Dads scanner back in the 1970s but technology gave way to new privacy blocks making old the old chrystal scanners pretty much useless.

Thanks, interesting. Looks like they got him just in time and there was bomb making material. I noticed nothings been said about the possibility of him being a jihadist.

Here's a link to the later Seattle Times article, haven't read it myself yet.

Weapons, bomb-making materials found in suspect's apartment
