No, that doesn’t follow.
You and I know the murderer was committing jihad, as a good muslim fighting the enemy. But the government cannot say that.
The government will find him mentally unstable, that islam teaches peace, blah, blah...remember the Bush pitch.
And so that lets islam off the hook, the military takes the hit for not better screening problem people, etc.
That will be the spin. Watch for it.
In fact they will probably play up the stress of the war on these poor muslims, blah, blah.
