It is an amazing piece of work.

The creators make clear they were working from the idea of a visual novel and not a tv show. During its run critics often said that it would be studied in the future to learn what a major American city was like at the turn of the century. You see every part of the city by the end of the show, and you see how much of an effect people who never meet have on each other.

I don’t doubt it is an excellent show. I’ve seen a few episodes so no complaints there. Is it a class you should charge tuition for? I would answer no. If they were in charge of script writing, perhaps.
