I didn't realize until after the series ended, that the Jim Henson Company was responsible for all the costuming and makeup for live actors, and the other two were basically Muppets: Rygel, the pompous, levitating alien I mentioned, and Pilot, the insectoid that guided the sentient ship Moya.
That plant-based female character who really got off on sunbathing was interesting, too.
