Rush and I are about the same age. When I was in high school, Claude Brown's book Manchild in the Promised Land was on the required reading list (to "sensitize" us to race relations.) When I first heard Rush use that term, I immediately thought of that book. I suspect that's where he got it. He uses it as Obama's title as a symbol of white liberal race guilt.
