Re: dentist........I DO have a phobia, big time. I become physically ill for three days before the appointment, and must be sedated. I tried to get my dentist to recommend an oral surgeon, to pull them all. But x-rays showed they are very solid and strong, and he would not recommend removal.

This coming Monday, I will be in the ‘chair’ for at least four hours and am already getting some nasty butterflies in my tummy.

Awww....you poor thing. I really do sympathize with your dentist fear. My husband will not go unless he can be sedated. My cousin is the same. I know they both feel they should just be able to overcome this, but I know it just isn't that easy.

Whenever you start to get worked up over having to go, maybe it will help to visualize yourself on Tuesday with the dentist visit behind you. That's what I do when I am dreading something. In my mind, I fast-forward beyond the event, knowing that, no matter how bad it is, I will survive. Of course, I know that wouldn't work with MY particular phobia, which is to be closed in a room with wasps, hornets, jumping crickets and grasshoppers, bumblebees, and other assorted flying, jumping, horrifically ugly insects. That's MY phobia. The thing is, in life, you must confront your phobia head-on. I only have to deal with an occasional wasp or bumblebee in the backyard.

Good luck to you, yorkie. Take heart, friend, it will soon be Tuesday. :-)
