West Texas
What a beautiful place. You are blessed. Sigh...
Love west Texas - Went to school at Sul Ross - now stuck in MI - thanks for the pictures taking me “Home”
How the hell did Helen Thomas climb that tree?
That’s a “big bunny”!!!
What kind of hare is that?
And the egg on the stones, what’s that about?

That’s a Jack Rabbit, the egg is that of a Nighthawk and a chick, they nest on bare ground.
Drove though the length and Breadth of TX in ‘75 on I-10 when I took a year off to see the country....that drive through seem to be forever.... Nice little hills and valleys in West Texas.....pretty land.
I need to get back out west again before I croak...bucket list type of thing.....I need to see, once again TX and NM and AZ and well damn...a good chunck of the West again....and except for a trip to Vegas in ‘05 (a long weekend and no gambling...just some shows and then we took a trip to red rock canyon then a light plane flight to the souther rim of the Grand Canyon....where me and the missus took a bus up to the rim....)
So much to see in America....I wonder why people need to go to Europe?
....I wonder why people need to go to Europe?
Heck I’m almost 60 and I still haven’t seen all of Texas yet!
Thank you for sharing. Somehow, views of endless lines of traffic on So. CA freeways just don’t hold a candle to these pics... Have you always lived there?
I thought that looked like WT. I love country where trees don’t get in the way, and you can see around you. (I am from WT, and went to college in Canyon)
“So much to see in America....I wonder why people need to go to Europe?”
How true! To me natural beauty is preferable to man made things, and it is in such great abundance throughout this great nation. My travels have taken me to 49 of the 50 states and I regret not making it to Alaska.

I tried CA twice and came back like a whipped pup. We lived in Vista and Oceanside then went back a few years later to Victorville. CA is just a little too intense for me.
“How the hell did Helen Thomas climb that tree?”
Stimulus package.
Texas- Sally (Holstein) stepped on my left leg when I was a chick.....one leg survived...but I became one mean rooster! The dogs were frightened by my imposing presence....they'd even surrender their food when I demanded it....
hell I turned 60 in February....and I haven't seen all of NY yet....
did you know that the Adirondack Park is bigger than Yellowstone NP.
The Adirondack Park is a publicly-protected area located in northeast New York. It is the largest park and the largest state-level protected area in the contiguous United States, and the largest National Historic Landmark.
The park covers some 6.1 million acres (9,400 mi²/24,700 km²), a land area about the size of Vermont, or of the Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks combined.
Hell people die get lost and die there every years....and the Black Bears there have been taken that weigh over 600 lbs....now that is BIG for a Black Bear.....I have hunted it...and will not go in off some of those long unpaved logging roads without a compass and a topo map....
