Buffy the Vampire Slayer -— Crosses work a little. Vampires get burned by it, but can simply ignore the pain.

True Blood — Crosses are irrelevant ( and Vampires are now OPENLY living among humans ).

Ummm,, the Muslims he killed happened to be invading his country at the time. Admittedly, he killed them after defeating their army and taking them prisoner, but the Geneva Convention wasn’t really in force then.

Yet, the way they died was really GORY. Can't even imagine how it would look like.

31 Days of Night - the vamps are just a force of nature like locusts or wolves.

In the book "I am Legend" the vampires created by the plague were impacted by the symbols of the religion they had before they became vampires. So one vamp is terrified of the Torah. I thought that was clever and consistent with the book's theme that vampirism was a disease.

There is a new main villain, a sadistic, lesbian vampire called Elizabeth Bathory.

Hammer Films isn't making any new features but Jess Franco is still directing...

Dance of the Vampires one of Roman, ahem, Polanski's better films (with Sharon Tate) has a Jewish vampire, and a fag vampire as well, in addition to a pretty cynical worldview (briefly: science to the rescue, ends up spreading the disease.)

In Dance of the Vampires the Jewish vampire presented with a cross, waves his hand, and says, "Oy vey, have you got a wrong vampire!"

these images were done by German pamphleteers who had their own agenda to promote. notice that they depict Vlad feasting amongst the impaled. There are strong indications this is rubbish, much like our modern media working hard to promote 50/50’s “accomplishments.

it’s a good thing he stalled the Muslim invasion of Europe, along with Poles, or we’d all be living in the demonic culture that is Islam.

Good to see someone who knows their history. Vlad is a national hero in Romania and stemmed the Muslim tide (the freakin Ottoman EMpire to be exact)to the benefit of all of us. Especially by today’s standards he was evil, but back then he was just a little worse than his enemies. Good thing the Muslim Turks feared him and left..

Eh, at least Vlad defended Christendom from being eradicated by the Muslim Hordes, which makes him closer to a good guy than the Muslims, or ESPECIALLY the Communists, whom I’d argue are even WORSE. If you must compare Vlad to anyone, Batman’s the best bet.

Honestly, Bram Stroker if he wanted to use a historical figure as the incarnation of Satan for his seminal work shouldn’t have used Vlad. Satan doesn’t defend Christendom from enemies, he sells them out. He was better off using, say, the Marquis de Sade as an example of an incarnation of Satan, that guy fit the bill much better if you ask me.
