Football used to be a fun way to spend a weekend. Then it started getting worse. The players think getting a paycheck is enough. The owners want every cent from your pocket.

Thank Heaven I can still watch Navy football.

I agree. I loved my Rams and Raiders. It breaks my heart that I can’t sit down and enjoy it anymore.

Absolutely. A terrific win in a driving monsoon over Wake Forest with Dobbs and Curry out. The next three opponents are 5-2 each, with Temple coming into Annapolis this week winner of 5 straight. Then on to South Bend (I will be there) for a chance for the second win in 46 years (Navy won the last game there—a triple OT thriller). Navy has lost only twice this year, both times on the road to teams currently in the Top 20. Based on this week’s AP voting, Navy comes in at #31. Run the table and finish the year 12-2 and firmly in the top 20 (maybe top 10). The triple option works with a team built for it. Just look at what ex-Navy coach Paul Johnson has done at Georgia Tech in less than two seasons. From a doormat to a BCS chance this year.

Go Navy!
