Thanks.

Ya know, Grey, I was just pondering . . .

I think it’s likely that most of the folks from the cur and jerk clique will still be

IN DENIAL

months AFTER disclosure

when they’ve seen craft coming and going in the nighly news for months.

They’ll still be shaking their heads . . . frequently catatonic . . . still largely in denial . . . trying to insist it’s all some Universal back lot hoax etc. etc. etc.

I’m beginning to be more concerned that their waling, throwing rocks and dust in the air about my sanity etc. is far more than I thought . . .

THOROUGHGOING

PROJECTION.

Not only do these folks NOT BELIEVE, they CAN’T believe. It threatens their world view and grip on reality farrrrrr too much, toooooo extensively.

They don’t have enouh tidy little boxes to fit it all into.

I should have picked up on the fragility and brittleness of their cosmology and their emotionality around that before. I was too busy trying to be charitable and give them the benefit of the doubt. Silly me.

George Kelly did a lot of work on our construct systems. A construct is a bi-polar way of channeling reality and our responses to it . . . as in a canal’s way of channeling. One super ordinate construct the world over is GOOD/EVIL.

As George demonstrated, people who’s construct systems are brittle, too fragile, too impermiable . . . those people are in trouble . . . they have a white fingernail grip on reality. They can’t allow the boat to be rocked very much without everything breaking down.

They typically have to be in HEAVY HANDED !!!!!CONTROL!!!!! of all the relationships around them to feel the least bit secure. Lovely folks to be married to. NOT!

And, actually, I try to warn folks in part because of people like that—they NEED—DESPERATELY NEED A

LOT OF LEAD TIME to begin to incorporate new information into their construct system.

I think, instead, the Scripture about men’s hearts failing them for fear, will come into play.

There was a story . . . a construct grid researcher was doing research with a psychiatrist in using the grid in therapy. Every week the client would complete a grid—no short task—and every week the researcher would give feedback to the therapist.

In the middle of the therapy, it was clear that therapy was having some impact, the grid was more permeable . . . components were up for change . . . and the researcher told the therapist that. . . . that he should strike while the iron was hot to foster the greatest healthy change.

Being a Freudian idiot, he wouldn’t dare to be so directive. And sure enough, very shortly, the woman’s grid settled back to just like it was before. And she left therapy a lot poorer and not having changed a lick.

There’s some frightful prospect that most of the folks in the rabid cur & jerk clique will not change either . . . at some point, they’ll have to . . . or quit living in society . . . but my guess is that at least a major chunk of them will go catatonic and worse rather than change their cosmology to adjust for the new realities.

Thankfully, for a lof of Christians, I know, they have a head start on getting that work done.

They should be able to accommodate the new realities with Scripture and faith in tact.

The rest . . . hard to say . . . when sanity itself may be up for grabs . . . hard to say.
