You were supposed to provide a real existing email address as your "alternate." When you do that, you get an email sent to your real email address with a link that activates your australia.edu account.

Here's what I got when I did that:

I did. That's my point. I provided my home email address I've used for years.

I got the same email verification that says it may take up to 48 hours, unless I donate $20~
