Love the winglets on the ibis taking off in pic 4 ...

A few questions re those wonderful ibis:
Is the tan color characteristic of young ibis or is there another reason for that?
Is the underside of the wings really dark as suggested by pic 4 or is that a lighting artifact?

Young Ibis are very dark and gradually lighten as they age. They have black on the underwings.
