Tomorrow there will be free one year licenses for security software! Coiciding with W7 release of course.

http://us.pandasecurity.com/windows7party/index.html

http://usa.kaspersky.com/shakeitup/

I don't know panda security, but Kaspersky, cool! One day only, for one year free!

I'll try to ping this tomorrow.

I worked in a neighborhood computer fix it shop for years. We always recommended and installed Kaspersky. Those Russians sure know how to make an antivirus. ;-)

One word: Linux. Then you actually get to use all your system’s resources for, well, doing things you want to do - not running anti-virus and firewall programs in the (probably vain) hope that you are protected against the most up to date threats.

The only way a person will ever be fully protected is if that twisted pair, or fiber, cable is unplugged from the back. Then you have to worry about someone physically stealing it.

Go with Microsoft Security Essentials. Works well, and it’s free.

I know. I like Linux, and do use it. This is information for those that do not, and are looking for AV software.

Windows is here, and people are going to use it. One word Linux, won’t change that. So hey, free software.
