No, I do not think humans are merely animals but animals we are. As such, we are made in a way that allows and encourages procreation, or survival of the species. That is why I referenced Darwin.
The desire for orgasm is probably the strongest physical desire we have, often stronger than hunger, thirst or even the fear of death. That is why I referenced Sigmund Freud although there are many other doctors and psychiatrists who will validate the strength of the desire for orgasm.
I am not saying we should be hedonistic and abandon all moral values. In this particular case the article says the young man initiated the contact that led to the behavior after having already done the same with another female teacher. I think that greatly mitigates the idea of any harm done or the exercise of undue influence by the "person in power."
