I need help from someone who knows the former FReeper "Memphis Belle". I had some email exchanges with her a few years back, but I've lost her email address.
I received the following two emails this week looking for information on a relative that Memphis Belle posted on my Tribute to Heroes page.
The emails:
Subj: Can I get in touch with Memphis Belle?
I'd like to add my father's best friend to your list. Pfc. Neil Cook, 94th Infantry Div., killed at Orscholz, Germany January 20th, 1945. My oldest brother is named after Neil. My brother, mother and I visited his grave at the Ardennes Cemetery, where many of the soldiers who were killed at the Battle of the Bulge are buried, a few years ago. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life, and I just regret that my father was not able to make the trip with us. Posted by Memphis Belle
PFC Neil Cook was my cousin and we just saw his grave while in Europe. Is there a way for you to give my email to Memphis Belle or tell me another way to get in touch?

As a young girl in Ohio, I used to read the last letter Neil wrote to my mother, his aunt, which she kept in her cedar chest. It was written in August, and he was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in January. He seemed like such a good guy, and I was sad that he died. In the letter, he mentioned that he didn't want to leave the last camp because he would go home with his best friend in Memphis on weekends, and had a "southern gal friend." I now live in Memphis, and I wrote to the VFW to see if anyone knew of Neil Cook, but got no response. How I wish I could talk to Neil's friend's relatives so I could learn about my cousin.
