The leaders of the Democrat Party in Illinois are elected by their voters. The leaders of the Republicans are not. And the GOP leaders want to keep it that way!
So, once again, we see GOP leader Tom Cross pushing back efforts to give S.B.600 a proper debate and a chance at a floor vote. We reported on Thursday that S.B.600 was slated for a third reading and a possible debate and vote in Springfield, but privilege spoke against the bill once again.
Tom Cross blamed the Democrats. He said they were trying to create distractions and that they were meddling in Republican affairs by supporting the effort to bring S.B.600 to the floor. Cross said it was punishment.
Notice that last claim. Tom Cross thinks affording the Republican voters of Illinois the opportunity to vote their leaders into power is punishment. Apparently Cross imagines that his position is somehow ordained by God, or something. Surely we must avoid these lowly voters at all costs, eh Mr. Cross? Why, they would certainly gum up the works with their silly pretensions at voting, wouldnt they Mr. Cross? The GALL of the voters imagining that they should be allowed to pick who leads them in this democracy of ours. Its a crime, I tell you!
Notice, too, the butt covering procedural move the Republican leadership perpetrated
The vote was 59-47 in the 118-member chamber. A procedural move erased the roll call and no official tally exists.
And why did they do this?

For me, all our officials are suspect and have to show the burden of proof that they are not corrupt.
Again.... whats the difference between a Republican, a Democrate or an Independent?......... NOTHING!!!!!
A Constitutional Convention we need!
I very much support that idea!
